Daniel Maw was born the middle of five children in a small Iowa town along the Mississippi River in December of 1982. He entertained himself by imitating the drawings of cartoonists he witnessed each day in print and on television. Today, he spends much of his time drinking coffee, eating peanut butter from the jar, drawing pictures, and otherwise dealing with his slice of the human predicament. He has reconciled his free natured spirit with the established practicality of this world by pursuing art through academia, having completed his MFA at the University of Tennessee (Knoxville, TN) in 2010. From 2011 to 2012 he was a full-time Instructor in Foundations at Bowling Green State University (Bowling Green, OH). In 2012, he moved west to take on a tenure-track Instructor position at Laramie County Community College (Cheyenne, WY) where he served as Chair of Fine Arts, Humanities, and Philosophy from spring of 2014 through spring of 2017. He now resides in Fort Collins, CO. If you wish to buy his pictures, he will sell them to you.
